BeagleBone Black Debug Connector

The BeagleBone Black has a 6-pin debug connector, which gives you access to a serial console. However
these pins are located right next to the P9 connector which makes it difficult to connect to while a
cape is installed.
So I created a 90-degree adapter. You can also purchase these at various places, but sometimes I just
like the challenge of building things.

Connector
I had some connectors
in my parts box, and thought they might work as is, but as you can see here, they stick up above the
P9 connector by a bit, and I was concerned about touching the bottom of an installed cape.

Straigten Pin
So I decided to remove the metal pins. The first step is to straigten the pin on the side with
the beveled edges (where the header pin is inserted).

Other Side
Here's a picture of the other side (for reference). Once the correct side is straigtened, you can
push the pin out.

Pin
This is the removed pin. I trimmed the bent portion off.

Hold Pins
I then mounted the pins on a piece of straight header so that they'd all be aligned properly.

Solder
And solder. I just put the iron on the outside, and the solder on the side. I could have put some
solder on the other side of the pin, but I didn't want to risk getting any solder on the inside of
the pin.

Here we see the FTDI cable plugged into the installed right angle header.
